Ongoing property condition monitoring
Next Chapter Home Health Membership Agreement
This agreement states the terms of the Next Chapter Home Health Founding Membership offered by Next Chapter Inspections, operated by The Next Chapter 717 LLC.
1. Membership and Acceptance
This agreement applies to the Next Chapter Home Health Founding Membership (the “Membership”). By enrolling in the Membership, the enrolled property owner (“Member”) agrees to these terms with Next Chapter Inspections, operated by The Next Chapter 717 LLC (“Next Chapter Inspections”). Founding Membership availability is limited to the inaugural 50 Home Health member homes.
2. Pricing and Recurring Billing
The Membership is offered under either of the following recurring billing options:
- $50 per month, billed on a recurring monthly basis; or
- $600 per year, billed on a recurring annual basis and paid annually.
These are two billing options for the same Membership and benefits. The annual billing option is not a discounted plan. Recurring payments are processed through Stripe under the billing option selected at enrollment.
3. Initial Commitment, Cancellation, and Renewal
Initial 12-month commitment
The initial Membership commitment is 12 months.
Cancellation during the initial commitment
A Member must submit a cancellation request to Next Chapter Inspections in writing by email to greg.pentz@nextchapterinspections.com. If a Member voluntarily cancels during the initial 12-month commitment, the unpaid remaining balance of the first-year Membership commitment becomes due upon cancellation.
Cancellation after the initial commitment
After the initial 12-month commitment has been satisfied, a Member may cancel by following the written email cancellation procedure above to prevent future renewal and billing.
Recurring renewal
After enrollment, the Membership renews on a recurring basis according to the Member’s selected monthly or annual billing schedule unless canceled pursuant to this agreement.
Company cancellation
Next Chapter Inspections reserves the right to discontinue or cancel a Home Health Membership in accordance with this agreement. If Next Chapter Inspections cancels a Membership, the Member will receive a fair refund of any unused prepaid Membership fees. The amount of the refund will be determined based on the Membership fees paid and the Home Health services already provided during the applicable Membership period. The intent is that the Member will not be charged for Membership services that will no longer be provided following cancellation by Next Chapter Inspections.
4. Founding Membership Rate
The $50-per-month or $600-per-year Founding Membership rate will remain locked for the enrolled founding member for so long as the Membership remains continuously active and in good standing.
If the founding member sells or leaves the originally enrolled property and acquires another qualifying residential property within Next Chapter Home Health’s then-current service area, the founding member may transfer the active Founding Membership to that new property while retaining the founding rate.
The Founding Membership and founding rate may not be transferred or assigned to another person, including a purchaser or subsequent owner of the originally enrolled property.
5. Enrollment and Baseline Property Documentation
Membership begins with baseline property documentation or assessment. For an existing Next Chapter Inspections client, a sufficiently recent inspection may be used as the baseline when appropriate.
6. Included Annual Property Assessment
The Membership includes a professional annual property condition assessment with photo documentation, condition observations, maintenance recommendations, and an annual condition report.
When practical, scheduling for the annual Membership assessment will be coordinated during the 60-day period preceding the Membership anniversary. The annual assessment itself will be performed after the anniversary date and will not be performed during the 30 days immediately preceding the anniversary merely to satisfy the next Membership year’s included annual assessment. Scheduling may reasonably accommodate seasonal residents and homeowner availability.
7. Included Storm Services
The Membership includes pre-storm baseline or condition documentation when applicable and post-storm assessments following named storms. Severe non-named weather events may qualify for post-storm assessment when, in Next Chapter Inspections’ professional judgment, conditions affecting the property’s area reasonably warrant an assessment. Ordinary thunderstorms do not automatically create an included post-storm assessment.
An exterior assessment may be performed while the homeowner is away when access permits. If exterior evidence indicates possible interior damage, an interior follow-up may be recommended and coordinated.
8. Included Insurance Documentation
Updated 4-Point and Wind Mitigation inspection documentation is included whenever necessary and appropriate within the Membership, provided the property is eligible for the applicable inspection and documentation. Wind Mitigation documentation may remain valid for up to five years unless a material property change requires an update.
Next Chapter Inspections does not guarantee any particular insurance eligibility, underwriting decision, premium, discount, credit, or other insurance outcome.
9. Additional Visits
Additional site visits outside the included Membership services may be requested and are available at a discounted member rate. The fee may vary based on distance, scope, and circumstances.
10. Pools, Exclusions, and Specialty Services
- Pools: Pools are included in general Home Health property observations where applicable.
- Irrigation and sprinkler systems: Irrigation and sprinkler systems are not included.
- Specialty services: Specialty inspections or certifications outside the Home Health scope, including HUD or lender certification services and specialized diagnostic inspections, are not included unless expressly stated.
11. Nature and Limitations of the Service
Next Chapter Home Health is an ongoing property condition monitoring, documentation, and maintenance-observation service. It is not a guarantee that every defect, future failure, storm-related condition, concealed condition, or maintenance issue will be discovered or prevented.
12. Property Access
The Member is responsible for providing reasonable access necessary to perform scheduled services.
